If you truly are a good student and got 90% in the class or whatever, shouldn't it be your choice? But especially in the lesser grades exams don't even matter that much. Do you remember what you learned in grade 7? And anything you do was probably important enough to stick even without writing an exam. I just think it is unfair for someone who gets good marks to have to write 5 exams and go through all that memorization. Unless you want to be on Jeopardy, there are definate things you will need to know for your career, so you should be able to choose what to memorize and what lacks importance. For example...I personally think that I shouldn't have to write/run a gym exam or an English exam. And science is getting pointless, how much of this are we going to have to know next year other than what we've already had big unit tests on?
I think a con could be that you'd be less prepared for college/ university. I mean it's just more practice right? Well that's what Ann Krouse says anyway.
The fact is, if we weren't suppose to know it, then they wouldn't teach it to use, who cares what we learned in gr.7, we knew what we were suppose to know then, didn't we? And it's the same thing for now too. And it's your fault that you have to "run" a gym exam, because you chose that course. And I agree with Meagan, it's practice for University. If we didn't learn how to print in Gr.1, where would you think we would be now? If we don't know how to do exams in high school, how are we suppose to do them in University.. Truthfully, I don't think Highschool prepares us enough for University
Hebrews 1:3 - " The Son reflects God's own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly. He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command. After he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God of heaven."

Pro:No Strees
Con:What you worked for for 5months would go to waste, and you wouldn't know if you actually learnt anything.
Okay, so I think...

Meagan, just to let you know in case you didn't, the post you recenly wrote is only a draft.
And I agree, exams are great practice for university exams, but should you have to write 40 practice exams? That seems a little excessive, doesn't it?
Hannah
